Our pricing is dollar based for USA and Euro based for European countries. Hence there is no risk to hedge on currency fluctuations over the duration of the project

Services to you are not taxable in India

Will there be any additional expenses, such as tools, software, etc. If so, how to arrange the purchase and who owns the tools after the project?
Should there be any special additional expenses that may relate to third party tools such as ocx, etc. ,  that would be identified through the course of our development cycle, the client company buys the tool license and owns the tool after the completion of the project. The same would apply to any hardware requirements or prototypes.

Should there be a requirement related to hardware that needs to be shipped for testing purposes, the same would be exported by client company on a loan basis to be returned after the duration of the project on a freight paid basis with no other duty implications.

How do we keep abreast of the progress of the project?
Regular Project Status Reports will be sent to you by email. Over and above that, web meetings and teleconferences are held as and when required.

The developed code is replicated/updated to your servers at regular intervals. This way, you get to review the progress of work even on a daily basis.

What is your process for redress should we become concerned with the progress or quality of the project?
The process of redressal is only through arbitration should there be any issues related to progress or quality. It is easy and transparent to revoke the contract should you see any displeasure in the first two months of the contract, as the financial risk is minimal.

Is ELICO a pure software player?
ELICO is not a pure software player. Being in the field of Analytical Instrumentation, we do have expertise is assisting design managers in a whole lot of issues related to prototyping, Electronics & Optics redesign, testing and firmware development as part of an extended support team, where IP issues are not crucial in the first phase of engagement. Gradually this translates to contract manufacturing of certain critical electronics. We are doing this all the time. We have a client in the US for whom we are redesigning his PID control card, and then subsequently supplying these cards out of ELICO! For another Boston company, we are redesigning their Turbidity meter (an old product that does not make sense to manufacture in-house, but still popular with its customers) and proposing to manufacture and supply in small numbers, where economies of scale does not permit in-house manufacture.
