Building Instruments for Quality Assurance in Food & Beverages

Elico is continuing and will continue its research work on developing high performance instruments, to food and beverage industry.

A growing regulatory environment and increasingly specialized instruments for the food industry's needs have intersected, leading the food industry to rely more than ever on analytical instrumentation. Consolidation within the food industry, as well as increasing competition and development of new products, has led to increased R&D efforts and more efficient and productive analytical methods and process techniques.

The quality of food and beverage products relies on precise and accurate level measurements that ensure a high degree of product safety and compliance. Optimal resource efficiency, more flexibility and Increased productivity. Elico offers a comprehensive range of instruments for analysis of various constituents of Food and Beverage products.

However, indirectly, technological advances in chromatography, spectroscopy and spectrometry techniques spurred by the life science market have lead to improved analytical methods for the food and beverage industry. Faster, more sensitive HPLC and NIR instruments have all improved the throughput and quality of analyses performed for R&D and quality control.

A part from this we have wide range of HPLC and electrochemistry instruments, which find their application in food and beverage industry.

A considerable amount of work was done on the Near Infrared spectrophotometer in estimating Milk Total Solids, Moisture content, Alcohol, Oil, Protein, Fat, Starch, Amino Acids, Hydroxyl Ion, Film thickness, Lactose, Latex, Total Carbohydrates, Nicotine; Attributes like Stability, Internal damage etc. in the areas of Baked foods, Beverages, Fruits, Grains, Diary Products, Meats, Flour, Pharmaceuticals, Paper, Textiles, Plastics, Sugar, Vegetables, Petrochemicals etc. NIR for Pollution monitoring in atmosphere and Free Fatty Acid values in Sunflower/Ground nut oil
